Hi my most favorite students!
Because we now have the great www.skylinehs.org website, I am posting the homework assignments there. We can still use this site to put up other things of interest…. What shall they be?

Hi my most favorite students!
Because we now have the great www.skylinehs.org website, I am posting the homework assignments there. We can still use this site to put up other things of interest…. What shall they be?

This week we will build upon our understanding of angles and vertices to look at how they relate with parallel lines. We will be using deductive reasoning and conjectures to find measures of angles without a protractor.
We also continued to do work with GeoSketchpad. This week we will finish constructing the proof for the sum of distances to any point in an equilateral triangle

As we get to know angles better, we will begin to build a repertoire of angle conjectures, in other words, we begin to understand how angles relate within different geometrical figures. This week we begin looking at parallel lines and lines that intersect.
Linear pairs and vertical angles are two angle relationships that you had in middle school which we will review because middle school was a long time ago

Angles and Vertices were the focus of this week. We explored them using pattern blocks and clock angles, and learned how to use our knowledge that it takes 360 degrees to go around anything.
We also continued to do work with GeoSketchpad and building conjectures.

P.S. I decided not to collect the homework as we need to do more review of linear equations first.

This week we will be building upon your previous Geometry knowledge to build a basic understanding of the concepts and tools in Geometry. We will be working with points, lines, circles, and polygons, and use a straightedge, compass, patty paper and graph paper to create and examine these concepts.

Welcome new students. This is our blog and we will be using this to communicate when we are not in class. I will post your weekly homework assignments here as well as resources and other things useful or interesting.
